Transition templates with parametes adjustable in GUI?

by stadh » Tue Mar 13, 2018 9:54 am

Hi all,

I'm using templates for transitions to make it possible to use "lookto()" transitions with different speed parameters.
However, currently I create one new template for each speed parameter variant that I need.
This is becoming clumsy with increasing number of very similar templates, that only differ in a few numbers.

Is it possible to create a template that makes it possible for the user to enter the parameters in the GUI?
Plugins support this of course, but do transitions support this as well?
If they don't, is there another way, e.g. replacing a transition with a plugin or something like that?

Transitions are "normal" KRPano code that gets executed in the context of hotspot-click-events. They can access all KRPano or PTP functions and also functions you may write in a custom plugin, having access to individual speed-settings for example.
The problem would still be how to identify and correlate the desired settings to individual hotspots, this could be solved by using the hotspot name or id, which unfortunately is not available via GUI.
Another option, probably not the most elegant, but working solution without using a plugin: the hotspot description input field is accessable to the transition code via the hotspot's name, so if you don't need the description for other purposes you could define the desired settings in each hotspot's description box and have a custom transition take into account those values.
Out now: DeviceCheck for PTP plugins!
