I think: no. Democratic structures can stand people like him. If you start banning those people you somewhen find youself burning books.

Can we at least have an "ignore" feature to filter out posts from users? That is, each user could select to filter out any other user.

Some forums ban users for a given time-- a week for the first offence, a month for the second and so forth.

Another option is a partial ban--limit a user to xxx characters per day, not counting quotes -- Never seen seen this done, don't know if PunBB can do it, but it would make a poster think about what they're posting and be concise, and not duplicate information.

And that may be the issue I have with Touristguy--lots of words that don't say anything new, he doesn't use the quote method everyone else does, and he uses a novel to say what can best be described in a sentence. It takes a lot of time to read his postings, and figure out which is the quote and which is his post. This, IMO, is discourteous to all the other forum members.

What about a Troll filter, that way it's up to the individual to decide if they want to be Trollified.

My vote is "no" as long as his "trolling" is rotating around his lack of knowledge but cocksureness of possessing it. If it changes to just insults, then I change my vote to a "yes".

I'm going through the threads and I saw "...honestly, my *dog* yaps less than you do."... thats the sort of thing that could change my vote, but there's too little of that yet, its still a "no".

Yes. He´s disgusting. I´d vote for a troll-filter at least. He doesn´t add anything positive to the forum. He takes away time and attention from relevant themes.
