Resolution for VR Tours

Dear All, I am creating VR versions of my tours for various clients. I supply a generic VR headset that is suitable for most phone types. The quality of the image when viewing is not very sharp or clean. Can anyone advise what resolution (dpi) I should be creating my panoramas, to get the best possible image when viewing using a VR headset. Many thanks,
John

Your pan should be at least 20000x10000px for vr or more.

I usually use about 47806 × 23903:

In the end it´s a question of what you really need - when your content has many fine details higher resolution is preferable.
It also depends on the headset - some are rather hires!..

Hello Klaus, thank you for your reply. Is an image with such high resolution not too large a file. Currently I use 6000 x 3000 with a file size of around 2.5mb. I note an example for your perusal. http://www.view360online.co.uk/Manorvie ... index.html
Do you have any particular preference on a headset I could recommend my clients? I quite like the Homido V2. Regards, John.

Hi John!

As minimum data-resolution i suggest 10000x5000px. You´ll never know which device somebody has.
I test my content on Oculus and some smartphone gadgeds. Using an iPhone 6 - or another phone in that range - it works absolutely great! In this case i suggest to have 20000x10000px data.
