Adding Virtual Tours to YouTube

by view360 » Wed Feb 22, 2017 12:48 pm

Hi All, I have a few clients who would like to add their virtual tour to YouTube. Can anyone advise if this can be done and if so, what is required? Many thanks, John@view360.

Youtube only shows videos, no panoramas or spherical panoramas.

So you must convert your panorama picture, either the planar or 360 ones to a moovie.

Quicktime on apple can convert many pictures to a moovie, you only have to duplicate your pano picture so you have many copyes of them. Then you can make a moovie. Maybe other moovie editors can do this too.

360°-movies need youtubes metadata injector to insert specific information into the moovie, so that youtube can recognize it is a spherical moovie.

But keep in mind, the resolution youtube offers is much less than with the kilor pano software. And the resulting moovie has no chance to add interactive elements like hotspots.

greetings from germany
Chris

Greetings from Scotland Chris and thank you for your reply. I had hoped there was a way I hadn't yet thought of but doesn't look like it. All the best.
