GPS panorama workflow

by Sean King » Sun Jun 29, 2014 5:31 pm

My normal workflow is
1) Raws to Tiffs,
2) Tiffs to Panorama. (so far so good the GPS data is still in the Panorama)
3) Convert SPHERE to CUBE droplet (krpanotools) to remove the tripod.
4) Convert CUBE to SPHERE droplet (krpanotools)

And then when I open the Panorama in Panotour the GPS data is gone.

At the moment I am writing down the GPS data, then inserting it back into Panotour.

But I have always thought that there must be a way to leave the embedded GPS data in the panorama, while at the same time removing the tripod/shadows from the nadir.

Does anyone have a better workflow that keeps the embedded GPS data as well as being able to remove the Tripod from the nadir?

Regards.

Update.

I tried the exported cube faces in Panotour 2.1.3 with a panorama with the GPS data imbedded.
And then I imported the cubed faces back into Panotour. And low and behold the GPS data is gone.

I know it is very easy to circumvent the limitations of the export cube faces in Panotour, by just copying the GPS data back into Panotour.
But one of the reason I bought my camera was because it had the GPS data embedded, and I thought (wrongly) that the GPS data would stay in the photos all the way through my work flow to Panotour.

Does nobody have a work flow that allows us to use the export cube faces from Panotour and still let us keep the GPS data embedded?

Or can say why the embedded GPS is removed when you export cube faces in Panotour?
