will Oculus drift work for virtual tours?

by HansKeesom » Tue Jan 21, 2014 1:15 am

Now that it works with Kolor eyes, can we expect it to work for virtual tours too?

DK2 may be available to order, it still is a development kit. I can understand people wanting the technology to be developped, but why not rush and panic about the compatibility when it's actually available for consumers instead?

(PS: not that I'm saying that you're rushing or panicking, but it seems that it's a popular demand and it kind of baffles me in general... It's like as if I was working on creating the absolute perfect jam jar, and while I was busy sorting out the design and whatnot, people are asking if I've prepared a lid yet so they can fill it with jam. Why can't I finish the jar first?)

(PPS: My metaphors are strange, I know)

I get confused with all this new technology in this area..

I viewed this video, which I can see great value if the cameras were set on a Stage of a concert or inside a dangerous environment etc. Where the person with the Oculas could be immersed into the stage/scene as if they were really there.. I can also see this working from anywhere in the world where you can hook into the live feed..

Also, 3D panos are also currently available.. and spilt screens in a Tour for the next PTP release as I understand is also coming..

Seems this technology is going in leaps and bounds. I feel its great that Kolor is in the middle of it all.. It can only be good for those that love this technology..
