Halide - programming language

by gkaefer » Thu Aug 02, 2012 9:35 pm

Just found some Info about MIT's new programming language HALIDE which focuses on imageprocessing and claiming to be 2,3,6 times in general and in extrem cases up to 70 times faster processing the images than other alghorithms.
Another focus is also to be able to manipulate a huge amount of imagedata in less RAM equipped computers.
Linux, Mac and also for windows available, the language frontend gets embedded to C++

opensource code will be published in a few days...

Halide: http://halide-lang.org/

should be presented in coming days on SIGgraph:

I saw the Halide paper 2 months ago. Quite nice and a good universal way to process image which solves both issues with image processing ( vectorisation, multicores ).
We have our solution too.
