blown highlight detection?

Got some great idea or a feature request? Post it here and discuss it. The most requested concepts are usually implemented, as Autopano Pro / Giga is very community driven.

blown highlight detection?

by ckiely » Wed Mar 08, 2006 6:39 am

When working w/ HDR & the Tone Mappers (from RAW) it would be nice to have a tool like some of the RAW converters that show a mask (red?) where any value gets up into the 250's so that you know that you're pushing blowing things out. Similaring in the > 10 on the shadow side.

Could this be handled w/ the float calculations?

Both very bright and very dark areas are interesting. This exists on most digital cameras (for bright values) and on Photoshop when using left and right Levels tool cusursors and pressing the alt key.

Correct... It would be nice to get the best image out to PS... just pushing that envelope a bit and then I can work w/ levels (+ALT as you say) and curves.
