[SOLVED] group by lens option

by foundation » Sat Aug 10, 2013 7:27 pm

In the browse by folder dialog, one of the options is group by focal length, but sometimes the focal length changes ever so slightly on a zoom lens. A nice 2nd option would be to group by lens/camera (based on EXIF info), so split the pano group if the lens or camera changes or when the time delay is exceeded

One note: EXIF focal length is not a continuous function but discreet. On my sigma 17-35mm lens, I can just have 7 values ... If you move just a little the focal length ring, nothing will change in the exif, but the focal has changed. I have no way to find that out.
Second option is nice !

Thanks for your reply alexandre! The reason I mentioned it is that my canon 24-105 and 100-400 seem to support differences in focal length of about 10mm (am away from my computer so memory may be wrong) which isn't a whole lot at telephoto end
