I would like to see a "100%" view and a "fit to window" view button next to the zoom "+" and "-" buttons.

Ctrl+1 and Ctrl+0 (that's zero) are the keyboard shortcuts that provide that functionality.

Scrolling the wheel of a mouse also zooms in and out.
