Sometimes can't move timeline cursor

I've had this issue on at least two OSX systems with Autopano Video Pro 2.2.0 RC1 (It might already be solved in RC2, but we're 75% into our project's post-production and I've learned not to update software in the middle of projects).

*Sometimes the timeline seems to "freeze" the playback cursor; I can't click or drag it with the mouse anymore. I CAN still get it to move by changing the time value in the text field above the timeline. Messing around with that value and command-tabbing out and back into AVP usually unfreezes the cursor, but it's an extremely annoying and often recurring bug.

* I have not been able to pin-point the exact steps to reproduce, but it often happens after clicking "edit", being sent to APG and then command-tabbing back to AVP

Hi Guys,

Working with RC3 and I cannot reproduce the bug overhere... Have you any further informations on how to reproduce it?

Best,

Claire

This happens to me aswell. I usually have to switch to another program and then back and it works fine.

avp 2.2 seems to be having more problems with this. before I could look at another program and look back and it would fix. The timeline cursor seems to be more stuck

Yep, I'm seeing exactly this behavior as well on my mac. Closing the program, and re-opening the project seems to fix it. No clue what causes it.

Hi guys,

Can you give me more details on how to reproduce this issue? I would love to fix that but I cannot reproduce the bug over here (and yet I have the same OS than all of you guys).

-> Can you give me a hint on what you were trying to achieve when this occurred?
-> Does that happens randomly after some time working in AVP?
-> During the editing session that lead to the freeze, have you at some point done an edit in APG?
-> Is it just the timeline cursor that freezes? (i.e you can still for instance save your project or edit the current state in APG?)
-> Does this still happens with 2.2.1 ?

Well if you noticed any particular stuff that might me related to this issue, we would be glad to hear about it.

Best,

Claire

I can't really say for sure, and it doesn't seem to happen 100% of the time, but it seems that when I come back from fine-tuning a pano from AVP in APG, and then come back to AVP after saving changes in APG, AVP's cursor freezes a lot of the time.

Sometimes it's also after AVP has been in the background for a while (while I'm using other apps or something,) and then I come back to AVP, the cursor is frozen sometimes.

I've never seen it happen while I'm actively working in AVP – even for hours on end. So it seems to have something to do with some sort of inactivity or something.

Edit: And yes, it's just the cursor that freezes for me – I can save the project, etc. before having to close and re-open the project to make it work. Thanks!

happens to me a lot too, and while I usually do have a good eye on spotting bug causes, this has been incredibly difficult to pinpoint.
I do agree that it seems to happen after getting back from APG... but bump on this, it still happens a lot ( :

I had this happen without touching the edit button, but I was alternating between a full screen YouTube video and Autopano Video. The only solution is to quit and restart.

Hi foundry45,

Was the autopano video also in full screen mode?
How many screens do you use in you setup?

Best,

Claire

same here. really hard to tell when this happens. restart of AVP is the only solution.

I am on 2 screens (4k and FHD)

Just happened to me.
Reinstalled my system to El Capitan, created new project, after rendering can't drag the time cursor with mouse.

2 screens one 1600x900 other FHD.
Mac Pro tower.

Same problem here with AVP 2.3.0 beta 1, OSX 10.11.1.

I can sort of navigate in the timeline if I hold CTRL and click into the red "render" bar or violett "range" bar, the preview will update, but that's it. I cannot use the cut tool anymore.

... in AVP 2.3.0 beta 2, OSX 10.11.2. Now works as intended.

Hello,
I know it's been so long since the last post.
I still have the same issue as well though.

It seems to happen when I hit "Save as".
A project is saved well in the directory when I execute it, but timeline bar cursor freezes.
It also gets fine when I restart it like others.

I'm using AVP 64bits 2.6.2.
I wonder if this bug has solved yet.

I'm running AVP 3 and this is still happening to me. The one sure fire way of making it happen (and this has been true for every version of AVP since at least the fall of 2016) is for me to go into full screen with the preview window. Any time I do that I lose control of the timeline. Sometimes is comes back. But usually it requires a restart of the program to get back timeline control.
