Different stitching result on same video

by pandroid » Wed Apr 22, 2015 1:26 am

Hi. This is pretty frustrating. I recorded a one hour music show using gopro 3+ BE, which gopro split into 3 batches since gopro can only record 17 minutes of video.

Okay, I stitch and render the 2nd batch first and the result is almost perfect, it's almost seamless and it's just solid, no ghosting. Now when I try to do the same for the 1st batch the result is different, the stitching is very visible and right on the face of the vocalist. I tried to manually enter the setting so that it matches the 2nd batch. Still, the result is different. What could be the cause of this? The camera position didn't move during shoot, it's on the same spot the whole time.

Did you use the same project?
Same stitching ? same color correction / ...?

Cheers,

Martin

It's a different project because it's using a set of 7 different video files. I haven't apply auto color correction on the 2nd project.

But hey, I just found a solution! I found out that in Autopano Giga, when I render to jpeg with Anti-ghost setting, smart cut blending and priority set to the maximum long focal, AND THEN I go back to Autopano Video, it fixed the problem and everything looks perfect again. In Autopano video I rendered using smart cutting blending as well, eventhough there's a warning sign that it's not compatible. Is this how the workflow should be?

No you cannot use the smart cutting on a video, it's only for still images. Because the cutting will change from one frame to another.

Use ISO or DIAMOND.

Note that you can use the same project for splitted GoPro files. The synchronization is the same.

The best is to concatenate the files before stitching the videos.

Cheers,

Martin

Oh my I feel so stupid now. How can I not think of that. Hahaha

But that smart cutting setting in Autopano Giga really did make a difference. I don't know why and how, but it did.

Thank you.
