Virtual Camera Settings for Stitching

I am looking to use APV to stitch renderings together. Is there a recommended camera setting/array for creating the content that would be best stitched in this software?

I tried rendering with a 90 degree FOV, from all six sides, but the software refused to stitch it.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hello,

You must shoot in 4:3 format in order to stitch your footages. You must also have enough overlap between videos (20/30%).
What kind of RIG do you use?

Thanks Oliver.

I am using 3DS Max to create the renderings, so I will have to add more virtual cameras to get the overlap required.

OK.
Keep in mind that pre-processing your video files before adding them to Autopano could create issues.

Cheers,

I think it would be better to create a virtual rig of six cameras, that produce six images without overlapping. afterwards you can easily put these images together into a cube map and convert that into an equirectangular video in after effects.
