Fine tune in APG after running Dwarp in APV 3?

by Treto » Thu Dec 21, 2017 2:12 am

Hello:

Dwarp is great and solved some parallax issues in footage captured via my Omni (on tripod).

However, it did not get all stitches correct. In APV 3, after Dwarp completes, I select the Edit button to open the file in APG to try and fix the problem areas.

When I do this, oddly, the problem areas I was going to fix in APG are now correct, but I lose all the correction Dwarp has applied.

Is there a way to maintain the Dwarp stitch when opening the file in AGP?

Is there another way to fine tune the stitching alignments?

Thank you,

Treto

Hello,

You should better use APG to try to improve the stitching using control points tools and mask tool if needed, then use D.WARP as the latter solution ;)

Cheers,
Olivier

Hi Olivier:

Thanks for getting back to me.

I tried that workflow, but end up with the same result. I have attached 2 screen shots showing before and after Dwarp.

The problem area is the panel wall of the bungalow. Before Dwarp, the vertical slits in the wall align properly. After applying Dwarp, they shift out of alignment.

When I initially tried to fix the image in APG (pre Dwarp), I tried to align the wooden hand rails using control points and masks, but they would not align. When I applied Dwarp, the rails align great.

Dwarp actually made the stitch better overall with the exception of panel wall.

Do you have any other ideas on how to get the wall to align properly?

Hello,

If the fact of adding automatic CP does not correct the stitching issue (not enough details) you can try to add manual CP witch is more accurate.
That said, I'm not sure I can detect a difference between the 2 renders regarding the panel wall.

Cheers,
Olivier
