Directional Sound?

by pbetancourt » Mon Oct 17, 2016 11:43 pm

Hi Friends, How can I add directional sound on Autopano Video?
I will have a scene (to be seen on a headset) where the audio will be recorded on a recorder device rather than using the audios from the clips. I want the audio to change while the viewer moves its head.

If I want some animated texts over some areas, which software do you recommend?

I own Panotour Pro and Autopano Giga.

Many thanks

Pablo

The directional sound needs to be done separately, either by using a spatial audio microphone & recorder (starting from the Zoom H2n, the cheapest and simplest) or by authoring a B-format audio track with ambisoninc panning tools in a DAW.

To get the audio into the video, you'll need to first render the video out of AutoPano with basic or no audio, then use a video muxing tool to replace the audio track with the 4-channel one. I use MyFFMpeg for this purpose.

Finally, you'll need a viewer that supports spatial audio. For example, the YouTube 360 view mode, or Gear VR programs such as Samsung VR or Oculus Video.
