Exporting for Gear VR headset

by HamishCross » Mon Jun 22, 2015 1:52 am

Is possible to export a clip out of AutoPano Video for a Gear VR head set.

I want to have it viewable on the headset.

What is the process for this?

Thank you
Hamish

Import your finished video into your GEAR VR.
Place it into your 'Oculus/360Videos' folder and it will show up on that page.
I added a new folder in that folder with a different name and put it in there.
It shows up on a second line underneath the original line that has the tour of Ireland on it.

What I am still trying to figure out is how to put a still picture in the icon square. For now it's just a black square with the name of the video under it.

For thumbnail you should make a jpg or png that is 400x400 dpi and then use a program called PVRTexToolGUI. Drag your jpg/png to the empty window and click on one of the folders above. It has to have exactly the same name as your video. Place them in same folder in your VR phone.

I think it's only good on Windows. Any suggestions for a Mac?

Greetings.

If you export a 360 video from AVP and ingest it into YouTube 360 player..

How can you watch YouTube 360 content on a Gear VR headset without sacrificing quality?

So, curious.. how can I export a 2048x2048 video from Autopano if I want to get 60fps playback?

60fps has "meh" support in AVP if I had to say
just use the source framerate instead of the preset

It's more a question of how do I export at 2048x2048 video? Do I have to export it raw at the 4096x2048 and then bring it into another video program to squish it? or are you saying don't worry about 60fps?

I exported it as a 2048x2048 video from MPEG Streamclip and the video does not play properly in the Gear VR 360 player. They are obviously giving bad advice.
