Hi

Has anyone tried the new version for 360 videos and what are the pros and cons
In particular was wondering if extra large coverage mode helps.
And was told new version less fish eye is this correct and does it become better or worse for 360 videos.

Thanks

The Hero3+ is virtually identical to the Hero3, in regards to the usable video modes.
Specifically, the only real usable modes are the 960P and the 1440P mode, which are the same on both cameras. The only difference is about a 1 deg change in the FoV, due to a different lens construction, but that is a very minor and inconsequential change. The major changes are the increased reliability, and the better wifi, making the cameras a better choice for the Freedom360 mount.

only 3+ black edition has 1440p so meaning must buy the top model.

just to be correct for the record, both the Hero3 black and the Hero3 black plus have the 1440P mode (plus the 960P mode), while the Hero3 silver and the Hero3 silver + are limited to the 960P mode. (which was the reason why I said they are pretty much identical. but the + models have much better reliability and wifi, which is why I would recommend buying only the latest and greatest GoPro cameras.
