Rainbow over the Aurlandsfjord

by Ronald Tichelaar » Sun Oct 25, 2009 1:42 pm

Hi,

Again a panorama from Norway, this time looking out over the Aurlandsfjord. Taken from the 'Stegastein' platform 650m above Aurland. Add a bit of sun and a bit of rain and you'll have a wonderful view.

The 360º pano...

And the mercator projection (1920x768)...

Wonderful pano of a wonderful place! Good colors, exposure, and everything :]
What is this wooden thing, an aqueduct/canal of sorts?

What a wonderful pano. And a wonderful rainbow. I think that it is the most complete rainbow that I've ever seen.

Very very nice 360° !!

I do prefer the first. The second one is a little too foggy (lack of contrasts ?) in my opinion.

Don't forget it's raining! Problem: we use well known conventions for night, fog and even falling snow or underwater places but none is really available for rain (or for the different kinds of rain.)

Amazing view :) I cant help thinking about city-building games when looking at this, like Anno 1602.

Ah, I loved the Anno series and spent years before that playing Patrician 2/3. Every time I see some seascape from the Hansa area, I'm reminded of the countless hours spent trading with the Mediterranean cities :D
Some of my panoramas, posted in the Autopano Pro flickr group.

Anyone ever played 'the Settlers'? Loved that game, especially the second edition on my old Mac.
