How good is APP?

Well here is a sphere image that APP stitched together that will astonish anyone. The photo is from 12 hand-held images of a coral reef in New Caledonia's lagoon. I was surrounded by a ball of fish of all sizes moving in every direction. All the images all had fish partly in and partly out of the frame and some were close and others far away from the camera. The branching corals formed complex thickets and to top it all off I was free diving. But APP managed to put these together perfectly without slicing any of the fish into pieces or messing up the thousands of coral branches.

When I loaded the images into APP I was thinking that there was no way the program could stitch this as the constant movement of the fish made it impossible to make control points for a large percentage of each image.

Within a few seconds APP popped up a perfectly stitched panorama as it it was no problem at all. :lol::lol: Really amazing software. Check it out at:

Amazing - I am duly astonished - very nice.

What camera and lens did you use??

Many different Nodal Ninja and Agnos pano heads. Merlin/Panogear mount with Papywizard on Nokia Internet tablets.
Nikon D5100 and D40, Sigma 8mm f3.5 FE, Nikon 10.5mm FE, 35mm, 50mm, 18-55mm, 70-210mm. Promote control.
