Being a music lover too (and a former recording engineer) i honor the acoustic traps. They look self-made - which i also honor very much - but i´d rather suggest them to be placed behind your listening position . . (but which would minimize the listening distance further, i know :cool:)

A three-way speaker definitely needs a larger listening-distance! Sitting that close to the drivers means the signals from all the high-, mid- and low-diaphragms cannot be in time
when they reach the ear. Only fullranges or coaxials can do that on such a short distance being point-sources - like Tannoy, KEF and ancient Altec 604/5 resp. their actual followers from Iconic for example.

Regarding all the other thoughts you invested into your setup i guess you´re aware of that, are you ;)
