Hi
Just published today panoramas from 03.06.2011
http://mateuszmalinowski.pl/2013/04/29/panorama-360-bialystok-z-wiezowca-przy-ul-zelaznej/

Nothing speccial but look at last 5th pano in the center. This pano is stiched from 4 panoramas of building corners. It is NOT from mast you can see on panoramas.

Clever.

What's the 'trick involved in stitching 4 panoramas shot from corners of the building - could one do the same from corners of a church tower with a central spire?

................

And I thought I lived in a flat landscape here on the edge of the Cambridgeshire Fens; it's perhaps not quite as flat as your scene but here church towers are about the best (only?) relatively high points from which to attempt to shoot such a scene.

Hi
when I do photos I don't planned to stich them together from all corners. Then probably I just take photo every a few meters. In my case from corner to corner is > 20 meters and it was difficult to stich perfectly.
First tried stiching in ptgui using single photos (without photos of roof) - to many errors. Then I stiched every single 4 panoramas, cropped them (cuted roof) and stiched together in photoshop.
From local gis service used aerial photo of roof and used in nadir.

Check this (not mine) - on church tower (but without zenit and nadir); stiched from single photos every x steps. Available 2 panoramas. On 2nd you can see how the tower looks like.
