Zoomable Floorplans

by JannPeters » Fri Feb 16, 2018 9:39 am

As far as I know is is not possible to zoom vpreferrabvly via mouse wheel into a floor plan. I am using it for vessels which have very big and long plans. The multiple floor option unfo brings not a big advantage here. Please make it possible to zoom via mouse wheel into the plan like in google maps with the markers scaling accordingly automatically.

Hi Jann,

This request is a frequently asked one.

It will surely be in a future release of Panotour Pro.

Meanwhile you can test the following 'hack' .

  1. Download the attached zip file :
    zoomableFloorplan.zip
Plugins enabling zoomable floorplan like feature
    (3.8 KiB) Downloaded 103 times

  2. Unzip it in your Panotour Pro User directory.
  3. Then re-start Panotour .
  4. In the Style tab, in the plugins library, in the "Advanced" category, you'll find 2 new plugins :
"Zoomable Floorplan - Main Tour side"
    "Zoomable Floorplan - Floor side"
  5. Add the "Zoomable Floorplan - Main Tour side" plugin in your "Main" project, the project that will contains the scenes.
  6. Add a "Website box" plugin in this project .
  7. Either use a dedicated plugin, or the 2 options of the "Zoomable Floorplan - Main Tour side" to display the "Website box"
  8. Use for example the following URL to display in the "Website box" : "./floorplan.html"
  9. Build the tour
  10. At this step, the tour will display a 404 error in the website box
  11. Save your project, and start a new one
  12. In the "Build" tab of the new project, use the same directory as target, but use "floorplan.html" as filename.
  13. In the "Tour" tab, add the floorplans of your "Main tour" .
  14. In the "Style" tab, add the "Zoomable Floorplan - Floor side" plugin
  15. In the Spot style, choose the action "Zoomable Floorplan - Floor side/Load scene in main tour"
  16. Add your spots on the floorplan.
  17. For each spot, enter the ID of the scene it should load in the "Main tour"
  18. Build the tour
  19. Display the main tour
  20. Now the website box displays the "Zoomable floorplan", and a click on each spot will load a new scene in this tour

Tell me if it works in your case, and tell me what you think of this temporary workaround .

I already can tell you the following Pros and Cons. Feel free to tell me your add-ons to this list :
*Pros*
  • Zoomable floorplans
  • Polygonal spots available on floorplans
  • Many ways to display multiple floorplans (combobox, menus, etc, etc...
*Cons*
  • 2 projects have to be maintained at same time
  • The floorplan project does not know the scenes fro the main tour. You have to find the IDs in the main tour, and set them by hand in the "floorplan" tour
  • The "current" scene can't be displayed as a bouncing/hilighted spot when opening the floorplan
  • The "current" level/group can't be displayed when opening the floorplan

If you think these plugins fill your needs, and if you do not have many "cons", I will add it in the Third Party plugins list here : http://www.kolor.com/wiki-en/action/vie ... ra_Plugins

Hello,
i am also interested in the floorplan feature. Is there a kind of roadmap, to get an idea when this feature might come to panotour?
Best,
Jan

@janto365 There is no public roadmap yet but we are thinking on a way to communicate more on these kind of feature requests.

When you plan to release a version with support for a scalable floor plan? Thanx.
