Combining cropped Flash and multiresolution HTML5?

by John360 » Tue Jan 14, 2014 11:48 pm

I have not found a way of combining multires HTML5 ( full sphere needed? ) and nadir cropped Flash.

Is it possible?

HTML5 multi-res. only works with pano images with a pano FOV of 360x180.

Once cropped you are into a partial spherical panorama.
So HTML5 multires is not available yet (but will be one day) due to the amount of unused tiles because the player display the sphere into a full cube (360x180).
Panotour can do it but it's not offered into UI due to the amount of unused tiles generated.

So I thought, but I did some testing putting a nadir cap on and also using crop and multiresolution setting. The build seemed to be multiresolution, but I tested on small panoramas 16000*8000.

If your pano image has a pano FOV of 360x180, and then you use the PTP Hotspot editor Crop tool, then I think multi-res. HTML5 will work.

The Hotspot editor Crop tool does not physically crop the image it merely sets viewing limits in the player, but you could get a lot of unused tiles generated.

16k x 8k is a small pano image for you?

16 x 8 k is small for me yes, have not used a fisheye for years, shooting 3 or more rows :)
Which resolutions does the 10.5mm give these days?
