It would be very helpful and awesome to have a plugin, where you can display an image, text,
logo or anything with a close button.

Something like 'colored area' with input (hard to explain, hope u unterstand) and not linked to a spot.
Perfect, if this could be used for each pano.

Sometimes you need a text description to display for a pano, or you could use it as a second splash screen.

Best regards

Hi..

You can do this already.. Using a Kolor Website Box.. The Description option is very limited and has many issues and bugs.. But the Kolor Website Box is awesome and works well. You can edit the contents easily and add a logo and any other image with text ... you can put a hotspot on any feature for this..
Just about endless options using this method.. I realise you said not linked to a spot but at the moment the buttons are not pano specific but its coming.. That way you can add a button on each pano and open the Kolor Website Box in the same way... I have added a logo button anyway, but its only Tour Specific, not pano Specific..

Hi Destiny

thanks for your comment and work.
Actually I need something I can use like a second splash screen. I need it for the
navigation help.
When I have to link it with a spot, people have to find the spot, so I can leave it as it is.

The plan was:
-For the tour they need a intro logo, ok possible
-then little pano intro
-Now I need another splash screen, no idea how.

So, other possibility:
-Tour starts with help screen
-Little pano intro
-Now a big logo, but I need it to close. How can I modify this?

Do you have any idea?

Wish you a nice weekend

Ps: I'm not really an xml modifier.... but the action from the social media close, can I put this somewhere
to the logo code? where and how?

</action>

<action name="closeKolorBox-socialShare">
js(invokePluginFunction(socialShare, closeKolorBox));
</action>

<action name="closeKolorBoxCallback-socialShare">

I second that, the wensite box is awesome.
And even more awesome would be if it's possible to connect ANY individual panorama-hotspot to action-triggering.
(Or at least make the website box available for individual panoramas, which of course would only be a makeshift).

Nothing to stop you doing that - the Website Box Viewer is a multi-instance plugin.

In using the Website Box, if you like the colour theme, size, corners etc, you can use this same Website Box for any Pano in a Tour and even put more than one Website Box within a single pano.. If however you would like different Themes for each Website Box such as no boarder, transparent/semi transparent boarder etc then you will need to create those individual Website Box Themes.. Its the Hotspot that carries the url and Title of a single Website Box plugin.. Since a few Alpha versions ago, the arrival of the Website Box into the Pano is animated, however, I would like to see the close also animated..

S-l-o-w-l-y I seem to understand. Not sure if I understood it right and if that's one of the basic concepts of PTP.
Please tell me if I'm right or how I should do it.

I define a custom PointStyle which triggers the Website Box.
Then place the Website box where it belongs.
Then place a PointSpot and connect it to the PointStyle.

And if I want different content in the boxes I create an individual PointStyle for each content.

Is that the way to go, or what do you suggest?

Thanks a lot
Jürgen

It can be much less complex than that.

If you only want one hotspsot graphic style for every instance of a hotspot opening a website box and you only want one style of web site box then you only need one instance of the Hotspot style and one instance of the Website Box Viewer plugin.

You can then use them multiple times in as many panos/scenes as you wish specifying the URL in the Hospot properties panel in the Tour section rather than in the Website Box plugin parameters in the Style section.

Additional screenshots for previous post, showing use of the same Hotspot style in two separate panos/scsnes, linking to two different web sites using a single instance of the Website Box Viewer plugin.

Wonderful. That should do the trick.
I already was wandering why there are two places to enter a link, hehe.

Now I have to get my head around using custom XMLs and I might start to like 2.0 :cool:

It works, but witha problem.
I have created a simple html site to display text.
When opened in the WebsiteBox there is a big hourglass permanently visible.
Bug or feature?

When viewing from local disk or when online?

If viewing from local disk in Flash version you need to set Flash settings correctly see:

http://krpano.com/docu/localusage/#top

And you should always use the View last buiot tour button ... from within PTP 2.
........

What did you enter for the URL to your simple web site?

Good Day all,

Interesting Topic, destiny on your example tour http://www.destinyvirtualtours.com/PTPV2kolorBeta1/InfoTextOptions/TextInfoOptions.html you have a contact form. May I ask if this was created using a plugin or is this backend editing and if so would you mind explaing the code behind the contact form.

Thank you

Of course I tried all this before. Nothing helped.
The text is there but plus the hourglass.

Are we talking about viewing offline or online?

If online can we see the URL.

This is a bug.
It will be fixed in next beta version.

When is the ETA of the next beta?
I'm working on a job that needs proper text fields and I need to know now if I can count on PTP or not.

@Andrew: It's in both on- and offline.
You can easily check.
If you manage to get a website box with plain formattet text without an hourglass please let me know.
Any other website or pano seems to work ok.

EDIT: I just found a workaround (= dirty trick until Kolor has fixed it).
One has to add a background color to the body tag. That will cover the background and bury the nasty hourglass which is already there when the box zooms in).

If you goto your main #data folder, graphics/KolorBox/Images/sablier.png and Remove that image by turing it into just a transparent graphic; just add a new layer in Photoshop and hide the hourglass, then save-as to replace that graphic then it will be gone.... =D

The "nasty hourglass" was added by Kolor at the request of users.

If the web page takes a long time to be displayed they were concerned that there was no indication that anything was happening.

Concerned users are pia :-)
But I'm sure Kolor will find a way to remove the hourglass once ths page is loaded, hehe.

Oh, and thank you very much, destiny.
That of course is a perfect workaround!

Hourglass will be removed once each ressource is loaded in next beta release.
Hourglass icon can also be changed as Destiny said.
