Panotour Pro 2.5 Stereoscopic Panos

by vkdesign » Wed Aug 09, 2017 10:19 am

Hello,

I followed your instructions to create stereoscopic Panos to view them with my VR-Headset. I moved all the files to my webspace and everything works fine, but the stereoscopic Panos, which where made with the last version of Panotour Pro, have a much lower quality than my original stereoscopic Panoramas. The original Panoramas are made with a Insta 360 Pro in a resolution of 7680x3830 Pixel for each eye (left and right) and 7680x 7680 Pixel as a top/ bottom steroscopic Panorama. To create the tour, I set the jpg quality for the tiles to the max "12" , choose standard and multiresolution.
When I open the created *_vr.xml file to make my necessary edits to have my Panos stereoscopic, the tilesize is 512.
The output resolution seems to be half from the original stereoscopic panorama.
Is there any solution to keep the original resolution of 8K when creating the tour?

Thanks

There is no zoom in VR Mode so you would viewing the tiles of the default level of zoom. There is no way to modify this from Panotour, and I believe Panotour uses the Krpano defaults for the tile sizes.

Hello Annis,

thanks for your fast answer.
Will there be a solution for this problem in near future? If you compare the quality from the original Panorama, to the one created with the tour, it's really diasappointing!

BTW: I didn't use Krpano to host the tour, I directly put it to my Website.

Thanks

KrPano isn't hosting, it's a coding language that is used for the virtual tours.

Could you show me a screenshot comparing the normal tour and VR mode version of your panorama?

Hi Annis,
if it helps, I could send or email you the left and right original Panoramas I used for testing on the following Website:

www.eyemovie.de

Please try the "Demo 1" and "Demo 1 VR" buttons

Thanks for your help

Regards
