Nadir patch.

Hello,

Question about the nadir patch and being able to remove it.

My question is how hard is it to remove the nadir logo from a virtual tour in PTP after it has been exported. Is it possible and how likely is it that someone who knows xml will be able to remove it if I put my company's bran on there?

Thanks everyone!

Make 6 cubefaces from the equirectangular image and edit the down-face. You can use the KRPano droplet "convert sphere to cube". After editing the logo in Photoshop make the cubefaces to
an equirectangular again using ""convert cube to sphere".

"After it´s been exported" depends on how you mean exactly by "exported".

If you use a mode that embeds the nadir image in the pano then not that easy because of multi-res tiling.

They would have to edit many many tiles to get rid of your logo completely.

Thanks exactly what I wanted to know. I want to give samples out with my branding, but I don't want them using it without my brand at the Nadir.

Klauss, sorry if i wonder it wrong, i know how to work with droplets, in fact i work with them on every stitch almost, i just wanted a way for my clients to not be able to get rid of my logo.

Thanks for your help gentlemen!

Ah - ok!

But in legal terms: when the client payed for the tour you have no legal demand for having your logo in the tour.
Except when it´s part of the conract.

Yap, that's not the issue here. Its well written in the contract.

Assume that A client doesn't pay for A spin, for advertising purposes. But that client can keep that tour for himself BUT the agency wants to reserve a right and the ability for the branding of the "sample tour" to be in there. Hence why my questions about removing the Logo.

That is all :)

Hey Max

For me the OTHER option to add a nadir patch is far better since you can add a url and it can easily be removed via the xml.....The graphic quality is better too. Personly, I feel that the nadir patch is a feature of great potentual... I would like to see an animation feature added... An animated add perpaps... but it would need to work on a Tablet etc as well, so not easy...

He wants his clients NOT to be able to DELETE HIS Nadir-logo for using HIS pano for THEIR purpose - maybe with THEIR Nadir-logo. ;)

Oh.... oops!

Destiny...

PS... You could always consider using the krpano xml encoder to protect yourwork...

I wouldn't do that Des I can hack a flash to pieces in seconds using software from Trillix (needed that to hack my own....stupid enough to strow away an endless .xml).

yeaaaap, @artisan, that's EXACTLY what I am worried about. But yea, i think that putting the nadir logo within the pano as a graphic in one layer, is the way to go.

Destiny which krpano xml encoder are you referring to?

Thanks

Clone the Logo into the bottom-cubeface. No way to get it out then - because nobody but you has the bottom face or the equi-image.
And if you did it multires there´s no way to re-construct it without an extreme effort - wich never would pay off for a thief.

That´s definitely the best way to protect your logo in the tour. Even Artisan with all his tools wouldn´t be able to delete it.

To me the nadir patch is an indication the photographer was not (technically) able to achieve a perfect nadir. Perfect nadir's I salute with respect.

Or just flip a copy of the panorama and reduce it's height so it fits into the part that was not photographed...Mirrorball!

Max, its in the krpano tools.. krpano Protect... Just drag and drop.. It will create a new file, leaving your original in tact.. You just upload the encrypted copy..

With PTP V2, you can do it in the Build, Protection Tab...

He wants HIS LOGO stay in the Nadir. And wants to avoid that somebody can delete it and put his own logo over it instead.

Yes I can read Klaus. A mirrorball I consider to be more usefull.

HansKeesom wrote:A mirrorball I consider to be more usefull.

More useful than his logo? I doubt.

Anyway it doesn´t matter at all - it was about to secure HIS (!)LOGO(!) and to avoid somebody else to place ANOTHER logo instead.
IF somebody can delete the logo and place his own one - he also can delete a mirrorball and place his logo instead.

But when the logo is part of the equirectangular image it´s not possibe to erase it: the "thief" has no access to the equi and i doubt he would like the effort to rebuild it from thousands
of tiles . . . :D

Thst´s why i suggested multires.

this has gotten out fo hand.. lol

Thanks for all of your input and YES, as klauss so kindly pointed out. the problem is NOT in my perfect stich or anything. I want to have permanent mark for that one pano that i will give as a sample. And YES i do want my own logo there, without having a chance that it can be removed.

The only way is to make it a part of the equirectangular image: make the equi to cubeface images, copy your logo into the down-cubeface image, make the 6 cubefaces an equi again (all to be done very easily using the droplets.)

That´s all: the logo cannot be removed by somebody else - because he would need to have the equi or the real-size cubefaces . . . and both they´re not in the folder - so they can´t get stolen.
