Quick swap of scene in a tour?

by Jeremiahscott » Thu May 09, 2013 4:41 am

There is a function in EasyPano's Tourweaver that allows the user to very easily change out the image being used in a scene with an updated version or even a completely different image without needing to recreate the hotspots, links etc. is there a way to do that with PTP? It sure comes in handy when building a complex tour and being able to have placeholders for scenes while someone else is polishing up the image, an unpolished version can be used to work the build up of the tour.

Thanks as always!

That sounds like a recipe for disaster, how will hotspots ever match up when you change to a different image, and a complex tour of unpolished images then swap out for polished ones! work flow issue there.
This can be done in PTP anyway just rename your new image the same and make sure it is in the same folder.
NOT FAMILIAR WITH EASYPANO BUT I WONDER WHERE THEY GOT THAT FUNCTION FROM http://krpano.com/forum/wbb/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=7047

You can hand-edit the panotour-file. Search for the old picture filename, replace by new one, save panotour file. Done.

But keep in mind ...

- make a backup first, you can damage the panotour file by hand-editing, in a way it cannot be repaired and must be redone completely.
- new version of scenes always differ, so hot spots will not be exactly at the same place, they must be redone.
