Has anyone had any luck using a tour in a UIWebView for iPad/iPhone?

Thanks for your suggestions yesterday. I will not be able to use Good Reader if I want to use this as an offline, self-contained app.

Looks like I'm very close to being able to use this in UIWebView. In viewDidLoad, I use the string:

Code: Select all
[webView loadRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL fileURLWithPath:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"tour" ofType:@"html"]isDirectory:NO]]];

When I add the folders into my resources I select "Create folder references for any added folders"

I see text and image tests that are referenced from folders and the root resources. Now I get an error where the tour should display: "iPhone / iPad Version not available!"

It works fine uploaded to a server. Any guesses to why this isn't working?

I don't really understand why you cannot use Goodreader as an offline viewer - other seem to have been able to do so.

Perhaps I don't understand what it is you are trying to acheive? perhaps yopu can spell it out in more detail.

Then maybe others will be better able to assist you.

Thanks mediavets. Goodreader limits the amount of possibilities that I can have in an enterprise or AppStore app. Creating an iPad app that utilizes UIWebView to display the tour would be really powerful because I could have buttons outside the tour that lead me to other UIViews. This means I can make an application that is not only virtual tour, but has any other number of features I want.

Again, it seems that I am very close, I just need to figure out why it is giving me this error message. Theoretically, I should be able to have the same exact functionality in offline UIWebView as I did in iPad's Safari when I tested it on the server.

I found out what my problem was! :D Xcode was compiling the javascript files in the top level of my resources folder. In my application target I needed to move the krpanoiphone.js and krpanoiphone.license.js from compile sources into the copy bundle resources.

This also got rid of the "no rule to process" warnings.

I'm so psyched now I get to have my 100% offline pano tour inside an appstore app. :) :) :)

@rahimhamada Search in Google for Nimblekit or PhoneGap easy to create a App if you know about Basic HTML Code and bit of XCode.
