[APP 2.5 b2 Win7/32] Detection worse than v2.0.9 & no HDR correction

by atelescope » Mon Nov 15, 2010 7:50 am

I guess detection is still not set to be fully functionable in APP 2.5 b2. I stitched the same set of pictures in both APP 2.0.9 and APP 2.5. APP 2.0.9 gave a nice stitch with RMS 2.56 while APP 2.5 is giving a 5+ RMS stitch with stitching trace clearly visible on the editor. Another thing is the HDR color correction in APP 2.5 seems only turn up the gamma instead of doing color correction, again, I again it hasn't been built to be functionable. Anyway, I really like many things of APP 2.5 over APP 2.0.9, just a few things got to be improved.

It's a bit complicated to help you with the first case ( detection ) without any screenshot at least.
For the HDR issue, I agree, it will be better in RC.

Here are the screenshots. I have used default detection settings on both APP v2.0.9 and APP v2.5 Beta 1. Notice the RMS on APP v2.5 B1 is much higher and there is much more blur in the middle of the picture (indicate worse stitching).

Did you stitch and render it?

Hard to say anything without seeing your settings.

That was before rendering and after I push the "detect button".
Settings are:
-Detection quality: Standard
-Control Points: 50
Panorama Editor:
-Interpolation: Bilinear
-Blending: Linear

Switch blending to multiband.
