Survey - short name for tools

by AlexandreJ » Thu Nov 04, 2010 10:04 am

I'm changing the name for the tool so that the toolbar is well displayed when using text under the icons.
I would really like to get feedback about the short names that are currently in this screenshot.

my preference is not so focused on the used names. For me important is that the given name is displayed in full length.
Things like "CC O" is useless for me.

So my preference:
1. whichever name used, please unshortened.
2. enduser selectable switch to enable/disable subtext
3. the existing mouseover for a more complex description should remain available

Georg

- By default, the names will not be disabled.
- It's up to the user to say, I want the names or not ( settings options in PE, you can already try it, available since long time ).
- The mouse over text has the long name.
-----
It still insist to be able to discuss about the right short name. 'CC On' or 'CC off' doesn't means anything I agree, and I would like to find something that will make more sense.

Alex,

not the "CC On", "CC off" or an alternative naming is the criteria for me. In your image its "CC O" the "short" name is not completley displayed....
... and this should not happen...
