Hi everybody,

Here it is a new release of alpha 1 version of autopano 2 engine.
We did a second release because the first one was too buggy for standard usage.
And it tooks us more than expected to make all platform version. The internal engine has really changed and it was a challenge to achieve this goal.
( This release is win 32 bits, win 64 bits, mac Intel only 32 bits, linux 32 bits, linux 64 bits ).

Anyway. Next goal is alpha 2 and we are already a bit late to get that out at the right time but we'll manage what we can.

There are many external projects that takes time to finish too :
* The panorama book, but that's not anymore on our hand ( maquetist has now all panoramas and is doing the layout of the book ). As soon as we have some visual, I'll post them here.
* Paris-20-gigapixels. We did some early testing, but we broke our motorized panorama head ... grrr
* Photokina ! We will be a full week away because of that event. BTW : you can meet us is real there : Hall 4.1 - Booth #E030

BTW : did you see that ? http://www.autopano.net/blog/2008/09/10/kolor-video-stitching-autopano-server/

Which head did you use?

I´ll be at the Photokina and will visit you there.

best, Klaus

I tried the mac version, and I have just one thig to say: the speed is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!
I'm working on gigapixel pictures, and the setting of the vanishing point is almost in real time, when I had to wait many minutes !!!

Thanks a lot, be sure I'll upgrade to AutoPanoGiga as soon as it will be avalable :)

Hi Alexandre!

Your videostitch is gorgeous . . . i can´t believe it . . This one opens completely
new ways of video-shooting.
Can it be done only via the server-version? I think i´ve to take a closer look!

best, Klaus

Eventually. Alexandre said that it will come after the release of Qt 4.5!

Could it be possible to tell us what are the 2.0-planned-features currently enabled in the alpha release? For example, does it use GPU? Are templates enabled? And stack feature?

Thanks,

A couple of points about documentation

The first 1.9. release was documented at http://www.autopano.net/forum/t4071-autopano-giga-alpha-1-readme. Could we put a sticky post pointing to that in this thread, so users can find it more easily.

Alexandre's long post about the changes is causing printing problems in many of my browsers. The only two that I have that do not truncate that post are IE7 and Safari. The default print set-up in Safari looks a lot better.

Also tried recent/latest of Firefox and Opera, and a probably older version of Netscape.
