I finally finished one of my larger projects in PTP2.

http://virtuelrundtur.dk/gramslot

Thumbnails edited after build, for better usabillity...

Go to "Den Holstenske Lade" and click on the sign on the big screen at the stage, and se how the light changes...

Let me her your comments, I would love some input's. I know it´s on danish, but i guess you can figure out how it works....

Best Regards

How much customisation did you have to do by editing the XML generated by PTP rather than via the GUI?

I liked the tour UI design; but the combobox looks inelegant and out of place; do you really need it?

Custom thumbnails are nice.

The 'Floorplan' is nice as an overview.

I would have liked Floor-plans to show the relative positions of the rooms with hotspots for navigation- I'm not keen on 'follow-the-arrows' style of tour navigation; unless ther's some sort of narrative behind the journey.

It would be nice if PTP supported floorplans that not only indicated where you are but also indicated where you have already visited - AFAIK that's not yet available.

Hi Mediavets

Yes, multiple floorplans on each section/group could be a good idea, but i could not get some usable floorplans from the castle.

Opposite you I really like the "arrows" and "walking through" the tour. It simulates a real visit better than choosing panos on a Floorplan. I think that is a essential part of a virtual tour...

I did not customize the xml files, only replaced the thumbnails image files and created a new copy of the Classic control bar with new graphics.

A small tip, if you plan to customize your thumbnails:
It saves a lot of time if you lock the thumbnail image in Finder (if you use Mac). This prevent the thumbnail to be overwritten each time you build the tour.

Best Regards

Henrik

Henrik

You can customise thumbnails in Panorama Properties - these don't get overwritten.

Ahhh. Thanks a lot. I did not know that. I don't get the tooltip on my Mac...

Now we just need a feature to make thumbnails automatic from the default view of a pano, instead of the equirectangular thumbnails.

Best regards

Henrik
