Yes, i know. But it is not "Plug&Play" as a normal Mac-User is used to :-)
He has to go to the BT-Systemsetting, add the BT module to the list, copy the /dev/-path and insert that in PW manually. That is what i ment with "handmade".
It would be easier to just select the BT-module within PW...

Peter

I see what you mean but in my experience BT is seldom as 'plug-n-play' as its advocates lead one to expect.

Since they represent such a tiny minority of computer users, can Mac-users ever be considered 'normal'? ;)

Proudly abnormal Mac user since 1984 :D And, yes, Bluetooth is always plug-and-play for me on my Mac, but I haven't been trying to use it for Papywizard. I can understand why someone on a Mac would expect it to "just work", since that is our normal experience  I have also been surprised at how well things work on my eee PC 900 running Easy Peasy Ubuntu. :)

If there where much developer tools under MacOS, we could build applications more easily. Try to install X-Code, and compile a program, you will understand ;)

PW does not really crash as the OS is listing it as running application - not as "is not answering" = crashed. It is searching for BT devices but does never end and the two buttons do not react at all. But nevertheless: here is the log:

Ok, and what happens if you manually enter the address of your BT device, and try to connect?

As far as i remember the same. I did it before but i did not look into the log. I do not remember if PW crashes or just hangs... I will try that tonight.

Hi,
i've just tried one more time to connect in BT from me macbookpro (mac os x 10.5.7) to the merlin.

I have add the merlin in bluetooth preferences of the mac and in papywizard > préférences > pilotes, i have add the BT interface adresse.
When i click on Connect, I have the message "Etablissement de la connexion...", the light on the merlin is Blue, in the bluetooth preferences of the mac, the merlin is show as connected. But nothing happened in papywizard, i always have "Etablissement de la connexion..." and i should force to quit papywizard...

What i'm doing wrong ?

Hi Numz, unfortunally i can not help you right now as my head is diassambled at the moment. I did everything as described above and it worked instantly. Maybe just try it again? Delete (or move) the Preference File for BT?

Hi Numz, :)

Is the Merlin still working well with your NT machine ?
Do you use the same hardware, I mean "Tronisoft Kit" for the Mac ?

When you have registered the BT on your Mac, do you have introduced the Password again ?
When you have entered the BT adress in your Mac, do-you have validated your input by clicking "OK" ?

Yes the merlinwork great with XP and the tronisoft kit.

When i choose connect in papywizard hardware menu, the statut of the merlin is "connected" in the mac bluetooth preferences and the 2 led are ok on the tronisoft kit, but papywizard.

EDIT : have try version 2.0.0 with serial port configured instead of BT and it's ok...

I also have strange issues with MacOS: it works only once, then you have to close/start again Papywizard.

Does it work if you connect through the system bluetooth tools, and then use the serial driver from Papywizard?

Hi, i have try papywizard 2 for mac (without BT support, but with serial BT configuration).

I have a problem with the generation of the XML file. The date and mode is not change in the name of the file.

it's look like this : papywizard_%(date_time)s_%(mode)s.xml

You mean that this is the name of the file on you hard drive? Funny! It seems that the var. expansion does not work on MacOS... I'll check that.

But it is really 'papywizard_%(date_time)s_%(mode)s.xml'? Not something like 'papywizard_2009-08-03_11h59m15s_mosaic.xml'?

I just checked: the filename is correctly expanded on my Mac... Can you check the value of the DATA_FILE_FORMAT param in the config file (/Users/<user>/.config/papywizard2/papywizard.conf)?

I'm not a transfuge, but I installed a MacOS system on an old Mac, at work, to make some tests ;)

To see this dir, open a console and:

> cd ~/.config/papywizard2/
> grep DATA_FILE_FORMAT papywizard.conf

thanks Frédéric for all your help, I managed to trash the ~/.config/papywizard2/papywizard.conf
I installed the 2.1.5 (at list I thing I did) but on "about papywizard" it says 2.0.0, is it like that?
