Please help connecting bluetooth with Nokia 810 (was working before)

by yoshiharra » Wed Apr 24, 2013 4:08 am

For my recent troubles, I decided to create USB to TTL level Converter (UART Bridge) cable as a backup plan. Which I successfully managed to use with my Windows 7 Netbook (but not with MacBook Air or Nokia 810 via USB OTG). After failing to connect with Nokia 810, I gave up and decided to configure back to Bluetooth. This is when I ran into trouble! Under Plugin tab the bluetooth are grayed out in all three instance (see green grab)! Under Drivers, the serial port was working with "0", the has not changed. Now I can not connect to the Deltawave Bluetooth any more!

Can any one tell me how to reset or remover Papywizard to fix my problem?

Thanks in advance.

Can you post the log, just after opening the plugins window (and closing it, to return to main menu)?

I vaguely recall getting into a similar situation once.

I think it's because you have managed to configured a serial connection on the N810 which doesn't support a serial connecton.

I think I uninstalled and reinstalled Papywizard (just Papywizard - no need to go through the entire initila install process again) to resolve it.

Or did I just delete the papywizard.conf file?

Update: I have managed to recreate you situation by specifiying a plugins serial driver on my N810.

I can also confirm that just uninstalling and reinstalling Papywizard does NOT solve the problem.

No, you need to remove the conf file (~/.config/papywizard2/papywizard.conf)...

Update 2: OK I have solved the same (deliberately induced) problem on my N810.

As Frederic says you have to remove the papywizard.conf file. After that when you run Papywizard for the first time it will request that you choose plugins.

To remove the papywizard.conf file without resorting to the command line:

1. Use the Applications Manager to browse All installable applications and select and install the GPE File Manager, it will install in Extras, like Papywizard. You need this program because the standard File Manager cannot access the appropriate location in the file system.

2. Run GPE File Manager. Choose the Filesystem button.

3. Select the /home/user directory then add /.config/papywizard2/ on the file path field at the top so it reads:

/home/user/.config/papywizard2/

And hit enter/return to display the contents of that directory.

4. You should now see the papywizard.conf file listed. Select it then click in the top bar and chose File/Delete and confirm delete when prompted.

That's it. Close the GPE File Manager and run Papywizard, and choose the Merlin-Orion and Bluetooth plugins.

...............

It's such a long time since I had to do this I had to learn the process all over again. A case of an old dog re-learning an old trick. ;)
