Serial link to NonGoTo Merlin. Help needed!

Hello Community :)

I've got my new Non GoTo Merlin recently and my adventure to easy panolife has began :)
My config: Win 7 x64/ Papywizard 2.1.21 / NK Remote for shutter release (Don't have Nikon D80 shutter cable yet).
10.08.12 Update: Ubuntu x86 / Papywizard 2.1.21 - same. No init response from mount


Mount works fine fom Hand control BUT can't start it from wire link.
I have found HL-340 USB to RS232 cable in a local store. ( Here are some details: http://hades.mech.northwestern.edu/index.php/PIC_RS232 )
I have added two 220ohms on RT&TX pins as described here in many posts from forum Gurus.

On connect in Papywizard I'm getting "Green" :) in Connect column and "Red" :( in Init.

Hello "Magic03", welcome on board.

I am affraid that you have not buy the right convertor !

Indeed the "HL-340 USB to RS232 Cable" deliver pure RS232 signal and this signal isn't appropriate for the Merlin processor who need TTL signal.
More then that you have a risk of deterioration of the Merlin processor with this RS232 12 Volt signal !!!

I fact you should use the "FTDIChip TTL-232R" who is a TTL device who can be understand by the Merlin (TTL 5V)
If you buy the FTDIChip TTL-232R you must buy the TTL 5V model and not the TTL 3.3V model .

Hello Claude!

Thanks for your answer. When I've checked signals on HL-340 and there was low voltage TTL as should be.
Mount needs TTL 5v but i have 3v cable. This is the key I think!

Actually I orderd already bluethooth adapter from Kolor.. but can't wait while La Poste will play with my parcel.. (it's fourth day at the sort center already)
So.. will continue my search )
