How to find what version of Merlin head do I have? (Non GoTo = V1, GoTo = V2?)

As mentioned here:
http://www.papymerlin.com/merlin-firmware-upgrade/

The Merlin version can be found in the Papywizard log file just after connection, a few lines before the end. The Merlin version is indicated by the first two digits of the firmware !

I was blind
I've successfully upgraded to 02.07.81. Thank you all.

And do you find that combination significantly faster in operation?

Claude,
can you please send me the xml preset "10 x 10 = 100 pics STD conditions as defined by Andrew"?

I would like to run couple tests to confirm the speed changes in the upgrade from 020681 to 020781.

Thanks Martin

Hello "mamoo"

You will need the FTDI-TTL2325 5V himselve, a phone cable with a RJ12 (= RJ25) connector and 2 resistors of 220 Ohm.

Then you must assemble all together according the pictures herafter.

Then you will need to make the firmware upgrade himselve ... For that you have all explanations, the firmware uploader and the firmware himselve availlable on the next web site :
http://www.papymerlin.com/merlin-firmware-upgrade/

Good luck !

Many thanks for the desription. Building the FTDI-TTL-cable and firmwareupdate were easy and simple. Update successfull complete to version 020781 and things speed up.

Happy panoing!

I still have 06, never updated to 07, but read 07 may be slower http://www.kolor.com/forum/t10644-surprising-test-results-for-020781-firmware
So if I confirm it with my head maybe I'd like to downgrade to 06.
