I'm experiencing the very same issue. I'm using W74x64SP1 32GB RAM, the only limitation that I could have is that I'm not using any GPU processing; however, never have been an issue using previous versions of APG 2.x and 3.x...

Hi... I would suggest its your Graphics Card. Try updating your Drivers.

Lol. This is no option. The chip is built in the motherboard and the newest driver, which is 1 year old, is applied. when i Start apg than a black empty window is opened. In top when i move the mouse over the Area where the buttons, Register and Menüs are located, nothing can be Seen. But youcan press the buttons. and they do work. And the followinv Menüs Re displayed...
So its def. Not andriver issue its a beta issue which in real is apre alpha Version issue...

Cant See the logic.
I can See the Programm
I can See the Menues content when i click them
I just cant See the Menüs itself
This cant be explained with old drivers
This looks for me to be a programming issue
PS all previously apg versions are Working perfect....
PPS same issue with my second PC dell xps win8.1 64bit with uptodate nvidia drivers....

It seems that you found a side-effect of our upgrade to qt 5.4 ( which uses a lot OpenGL ).

Hi Alexandre!

I don´t have this issue on my "Hackintosh" i7/64GB/GForce running OSX 10.9.3 Mavericks.
APG4Beta1runs very well, as already reported.

Guess i better not load Beta2 at the moment!?

best, Klaus

difference between beta1 and beta2 is just about the compilation. In beta1, we activated AVX instructions set by default, thus the software will run only on CPU with AVX. It seems you have one. Beta2 will use AVX if found, not always.

Georg, are you using windows remote desktop or not ?
Remote desktop is not supported in Qt5, but VNC is.

Hi Alexandre,
both methods same result. via ASMB6ikvm module (Asus JRE based kvm module) and via VGA onboard graphics.
I upgraded JRE from Version 7 Update 67 to Version 8 Update 25 and same result.

Win8.1 most recent Windows updates applied.

... I dont use RDP.
method1 I tried: monitor directly connected to onboard vga
method2 I tried: via KVM module which uses an JRE based connection with IE10....

Fired up 4.0b2 on a VMware virtual machine today and I'm seeing the same thing both when using the Vmware console and when RDP'ed in. Never had problems with earlier versions in the same environment. Win 7 SP1 x64

(And before anyone asks why I'm using Vmware, It's because I can create a 16 core, 200+GB system with amazingly fast Flash storage in our lab that way!)

Now, after the last update B3 , for me it's working.
I mean it's starting but it's really really slow compare the 3.7 version.
At least 5 times slower!!!!

Re: APG 4.0b2 ... still dark after start  [SOLVED]

by gkaefer » Wed Jan 07, 2015 7:04 pm

b3 does solve the Problem for me too. Speed (starting apg is some ticks slower now, the render of the speedtest pano with >330 Images is done for me now in 6min and 0 seconds. my best with apg 3.7 was 9 min. see viewtopic.php?f=16&t=23834 )
I used the Default Settings after clean install (without apg3.x to be removed first...)
Georg

PS: I Change to Status [solved] ... because the initial Problem is now solved for me...
