Noob with a simple question

by 480sparky » Sun Aug 31, 2014 8:46 pm

Just purchased the license to Autopano Giga, after trying the trial version.

Once I registered the software, the Verticals Tools is no longer a clickable option.

So what am I missing?

Welcome to the forum...

Not sure... but what projection type are you using?

The Vertical lines tool seems only to be available for spherical and planar projections.

Cylindrical. It worked just fine for that on the trial version. And even the online help does not mention any limits as to the type of projection used.

http://www.autopano.net/wiki-en/action/ ... Correction

"The vertical lines tool is only available in the spherical and rectilinear (planar) projections."

If you switch to Spherical projection you can use the Vertical lines tool and then switch projection back to Cylindrical.

If you intend to use the stitched pano in Panotour then be aware that Panotour requires that panos use either a spherical or planar projection.

I doubt the vertical lines tool in the trial works with cylindrical projection.

in planar-mode you have two symmetrical dimensions: a + b.
in spherical-mode you also have symmetrical dimensions: the sphere.
in cylindrical-mode you have one planar (vertical) and one cylindrical (horizontal) dimension.

So - as Andrew mentioned already - for correcting the verticals go to spherical mode, do your editing and go back
to cylindrical mode.
