Hello,

Suppose i want to manually mark something on the original image (i.e. a person) taken by my camera and after that locate it on the panorama image progrematically.
For that i would need some kind of a relationship\reference between the original images and the panorama image.
How can i obtain this kind of information?
*.pano metadata (when opened with Notepad) only contains the relationship between the imported images and the final panorama.

Sure,

Suppose i have a software that detects faces (Face Recognition).
I will let this software detect faces while processing the original images taken by my DSLR camera.
The output is the bounding box (in pixels) which encapsulates the face. i.e. 20px from the top left corner and 30px down from the top left corner of the image.
Now, i want to tag these faces on the panorama image that the Autopano created (programatically of course, not by hand).
In order to do that, i need to know where is the detected face in the big panorama image.
If i could know the relationship between the original image (which the provcessing was made on) in terms of pixels, then, i would know where to "find" the face and annotate it somehow (maybe a baloon).
To summarize, if i could know where are the pixels of the original image , in the panorama big image, i would be satisfied! =D

automatic face recognition with the Goal (to make public available) to link to personal Information of any Kind (e.g. Facebook account of this Person) is in EU prohibited by law.
Even Google had to stop its Service.

if you wanna create a pano letting persons decide manually to tag themselves... than you can use:

Ok - i doubt it can be done in PTP or any other tour-creator.
You´d need to do that using a tagging-application - there are some, but they´re rather expensive.

Ok - i doubt it can be done in PTP or any other tour-creator.
You´d need to do that using a tagging-application - there are some, but they´re rather expensive.

The real question here is if there is generated metadata (by export i.e) that i can use to determine the original image locaion in the exported panorama.

Example :

Basically, i am looking for a lookup table.

Another example:
Suppose each original image is 500pix over 500pix and i have 10 images, then
panorama size is 5000X5000 and i can easily identify the beginning and ending of each original image in the panorama i.e. pixel 501 is the beggining of the second image in the panorama tabular structure, right?
BUT! This is not right since there is overlapping and in addition Autopano SW is adding margins around the final panorama.

No, i want to have a "regular" panorama with blending and all other features.
I thought that the metadata i found in the .pano file (the panorama file itself) by opening it using Notepad will shed some light , but, it does not even contain the tabular outline of the images.

I thought that the metadata i found in the .pano file (the panorama file itself) by opening it using Notepad will shed some light , but, it does not even contain the tabular outline of the images.
here is what i am looking at, maybe you will be able to point me.

I think I'm looking for the same thing....
My understanding is that you want autopano to produce a lookup table that shows where specific points in an original component image were placed in the final pano image after stitching:

It might be a table that looks something like this:
input photo # Hpix vpix output HPix output VPix
1 400 350 400 350
2 200 120 200 460 <--- not = sum of 350 & 120 because of blending/overlap
3 300 150 290 550

With this info, you could translate hotspots found in the original images and locate them accurately on the resulting panorama.

If this is correct, I have also looked without success for a way to do this.

hopefully someone else will come along who understands what we are looking for.

You should be able to find that information from the .pano file that was used to create the rendered pano. It has the information about where the photo is inside the sphere.

The other option would be to output the file to PSD which (roughly) aligns the original images to the underlying Pano as layers which are not visible by default in the rendered file.

I am not sure that the layers are 100% matched to the underlying image, I suspect because photoshop can't do all the of transforms the same way Autopano does.
