4K resolution

by URS » Tue Sep 09, 2014 3:36 pm

Can somebody tell me how big a panorama needs to be to fill up the new 4K TV screens. Are they still 72 dpi or this has changed ? Or how can I calculate the size ?

UHDTV is 3840 x 2160 and 4k standard is 4096 x 2160 pixels.

Thats about 8 Megapixel. So basically 1/3 to 1/2 of what a single image from a current camera would have in size.
Pretty much any panorama would exceed this in size unless you shoot with seriously old equipment.

DPI is an entire different beast.
