Image slicing and merging software

by hermer-blr » Sat Mar 03, 2012 3:32 pm

Months ago, I already posted a question regarding this and surprisingly I did not get any satisfactory answer... I try again today

I am looking for a software able to slice a 400 Mpixel panorama (16 bit tif) into smaller images that can be manipulated by standard image processing software (I am using Nikon capture NX2). Following individual processing of the sliced images, I want this software to be able to reconstruct the whole panorama.

Total image slicer works well for the slicing operation but is unable to append the images (too big).

Any solution to propose?

a commandline tool part of the krpano tools package can do this too.
www.krpano.com
...
http://www.krpano.com/tools/index.php?lang=en
kmaketiles...

as ptp licensed user you can use your built in krpano license to export and use it with the krpano tools..

but its no gui... so easier to handle is kroutils...

Georg

PS: and finally you can use the ptp built in feature to export tiles... so you get 6tiles you can edit with your desired software
(krpanotool than can past the tiles together and you can save the resulting image, ptp can do the import, but than you cant reexport the final pano... only the tour is possible...)
