Stereoscopic 3D images

by signmaster » Fri Mar 02, 2018 11:57 pm

Any tips for stitching stereoscopic 3D images using Autopano. I know it won't stitch both sets of images at the same time but I would be happy to stitch the left and right eye separately, perhaps after creating a template?

Hello,

In order to create a stereoscopic (anaglyph) panorama you can use Gimp, Photoshop or any other software that handles layers. There's no option in Autopano that can create such panorama.

Best regards,
Olivier

I have no problem using Photoshop after stitching. Tghe problem is stitching with Autopano or any other software I have tried. I currently shoot the images with about a 60mm (IPD) so each image is shot at an offset of 30mm from the center of rotation. This makes it hard for the software to stitch correctly. I am after some tips to overcome this problem. Would be good if Autopano would create hard links so you could stitch a series of images then save a template with hard links that could be applied to other images that were shot with the same positioning etc. Also to over come the stitching problem instead of shooting 4 images around with a fisheye lens I shoot 20 or more. So just after some tips.

Hello,

You can manually create links between pictures if you have enough overlap but you may encounter parallax issues.
Can you share or send your pictures?

Best,
Olivier

Hi Steve,

The stitch is really very good with Autopano (with all the pictures, slightly worse eye by eye but not horrible) but I do not have any solution for your special need, unfortunately.

Best,
Olivier
