Autopano 3.0 is SLOWER than 2.5 or 2.6

I recently ordered the new version of Autopano Pro Video 3.0. The main reason was that this new version was said to be about 3 times better in rendering. So I expected that rendering would only take about 30% of the time and hence be substantially FASTER than the earlier versions of Autopano Pro Video.

In my tests, however, the contrary is the case. Rendering is about 25% SLOWER than the earlier versions. For these tests I used the same project created on version 3.0 with both earlier versions. The earlier versions needed 2h 7min (2.5.3) and 2h 3min (2.6.2), respectively, whereas version 3.0 needs 2h 40min . So, where is the promised increase in speed? The same result shows when using a project created under version 2.6.2 whereby version 3.0 is about 26 minutes SLOWER than 2.5.3. This is clearly not satisfactory and clearly nowwhere near a 3times better rendering performance =(

I think you need to try with the 'Rendering Engine' in the General Tab of Settings to 'GPGPU', this then uses Nvidia CUDA processing, this is whats delivering the suggested speed increase, it should work fine on your 965M (which has 944 CUDA cores), but is influenced by the number of CUDA cores available. I've seen a doubling of rendering framerates compared to OpenGL on my 980M (which has 1536 CUDA cores) Alienware laptop and a realtime preview capability, but I am having issues with CUDA on my desktop running a 980ti... (See seperate Post:

Rendering Engine to GPGPU for CUDA processing

I'd be interested to hear if you see a framerate improvement...

Great success!!! I got frame rates beyond 20 and the rendering time dropped to about 57 minutes which is a true performance improvment! Thank you for you help DJW. =D =D =D
