Hello & first of all, happy new Year to all of you!
I'm about to replace my iMac-mid 2011 for a new model (27 inches) and I'm wondering which model I should pick? I'm posting this question here because I do use on a regular bases APG & PTP. Since an iMac with only SSD is REALLY expensive, I'll be going for a fusion drive with, to start, 8Go of RAM. My question is about the processor: by default, it's an Intel Core i5 @ 3.2Ghz. I can change it for an i7 @ 4.2Ghz. Since I usually keep my computer for, at least, 4 years, do you believe the extra 360€ is worth it? When stiching my images, what could be the time gain between an i5 3.2Ghz & an i7 4Ghz?
anyone from Kolor can answer me? Boy, I have this weird feeling that since you guys where bought by GoPro, beside 360 videos, nothing is happening with APG or PTP. Back to my question and to sum up: when using APG, what is the most important: CPU, RAM, SSD? I do understand what make a computer powerful is a mix of those 3 elements.

Same feeling .......! Everything is so slow now conc. APG. My personal anwser to your question : 1) 8 GB is too small , go for 16 GB at least 2) i7 if you still have money, because you will keep it 4 years Bernard
Some information regarding the minimum and recommended hardwre are available in the FAQ: http://www.kolor.com/wiki-en/action/vie ... utopano.3F To sum up: We use the GPU to display corrections and open a panorama much more quickly. We use the CPU to render the panoramas. Not sure latest iMac have a dedicated GPU (NVidia or AMD)?
