osx 10.12 sierra bug

by itsrichphoto » Sun Oct 09, 2016 11:40 pm

I have noticed this a few times and on two different machines running sierra.

The pano render size keeps changing to either 1% or 10%.

If the project is saved with the render size set at 100%, when opened in the batch stitcher it will revert to 1% 0r 10%. I have changed the settings in preferences, however it still does this. This means each pano has to be adjusted.

Hello,

Many thanks for the feedback. We do not support Sierra yet. We are only at the beginning of our tests.
We will keep you informed as soon as possible.
Thanks for your trust.

Best regards,
Olivier

Hello,

After a quick test, if I modify the render size to 100% in the general preferences, it reverts to 1% after I relaunch the app. If I change the render size in the panorama editor, then I save the project, quit and re-launch Autopano by double-clicking the .pano file, the value doesn't change.
Can you confirm?

Thanks in advance.

Cheer,
Olivier

I typically create panos at maybe 50 at a time. I was quitting the autopano then restarting and sending to batch stitcher. I do this rather than have to go through all the dialog for each pano. It was then changing the preset of the saved render size from 100% to 1% of the saved autopano project where it had been at 100% before closing. The preferences is perhaps not saving other stitch options that can be changed with the preferences dialogue.

Instead of closing autopano, I closed all the pano projects then opened the batch stitcher and dragged all the projects from the finder into it. There seemed to be no issues with with render size with this method. Typically, preferences only apply once autopano is restarted, I wonder if it is set whilst open, it will control the render size?

Hello,

Some values in the preferences are not saved once Autopano is restarted (like in the Images tab, EXIF values for instance). There's nothing I can do now. We continue to test our softwares with Sierra. Only a workaround can be used at this time, I'm sorry.

Cheers,
Olivier

Thanks

I also noticed it resets the lens size (if unknown) also.

There are a lot of bugs that Apple have created with this new update. My canon printer only works if the document is saved as a pdf and printed from preview for example

Yes, absolutely.
Each new update "creates" new problems or incompatibilities. This is the reason we cannot support our softwares on each new OS at the very beginning. A lot of updates simply on the OS themselves are expected in the coming weeks.

Cheers,
Olivier

if anyone is interested...

With the export size issue.

Before you create the image groups, go to preferences and change the size to 100% or whatever. It works fine.

Really looking forward to an update to "fix" Autopano Giga on Sierra, as non-compatability is driving me nuts.
Any ETA on when it might be released?
Thanks!

Hello,

At the very beginning of 2017. This is not the best period to release a new version

Happy Holiday Season.

I know I'm banging on the same drum here, but I'm really haning out for the Sierra update. This is the only piece of software I have that doesn't work under this operating system and am anxious to not have to use Photoshop for my stitching on current projects. Is the update imminent, or is there still a bit of waiting to do.

Thanks in advance for the communication, I appreicate it.

Hello,

Update is imminent, that's right! Just one recommendation when Apple will release a new version...create a new partition, if possible, to test all the softwares you usually use. Each new release create new incompatibility problems and instabilities. It concerns all the operating systems of course, not only Apple ;-)
So, once again, we cannot release a new version as soon as a new OS is updated. Some bug fixes deployed in the following weeks can "break" our own new version of the software (it happened!).

Best,
Olivier
