Templates not working with stacked images

by pxlphoto » Tue Jul 12, 2016 11:00 am

Hello,
I noticed that Templates have stopped working with stacked images.
Example:
12 Pictures shot in bracketing (0, -2, +2) with a Fisheye Lens (8mm);
resulting 4 blocks made by 3 pictures each. If I create a template out of that combination and try to apply it to an identical set of pictures (4 blocks of 3 pictures each), it will complain that the number of pictures in the set is wrong.
If I try on a set with only 4 pictures (the correct exposure) it will give the same error.
If I destroy the blocks and get 12 unstacked images it will apply the template on the four main pictures (Pic 1, 4, 7 and 10) leaving the rest untouched (I then have to copy paste position to the other pictures).

I remember that in previous (like 1 or 2 years ago) versions of Autopano Giga the problem wasn't there.
Hope you'll fix this (or advice how to work around this bug).
Thanks in advance.
Lorenzo

I have exactly the same problem....
Trying to use the Template with HDR photos (3*46 photos).
To avoid the avertissment message "Wrong number of photos", I have 3 layers, and before saving the Template, i delete the layer of the well exposed image and over-exposed image...
Nothing to do, all the image are placed on the same position.

To be honnest, i don't manage to use templates also without HDR mode. It works as if it was no Template at all.

Also tried to use the PTgui import, Papywizard import, but it doesn't works fine with HDR and doesn't load the distortion parameters.

If someone already tryed to use the templates?

Me,
they did work in previous versions of autopano (2013, for sure).
The fact they're ignoring such a big problem is so sad.

I switched back to the 3.5 and 2.6.2 versions, but the results are also, how to say... bad and almost the same than with the 4.2.3...

The original positions of the photos are not respected, even if all the optimisation are unchecked.
The pictures without any links are set to bad positions.

I'm having an issue using a template too. I have stitched my mid expose and want to apply that as a template to the high and low exposures but when I do it just doesn't even seem to apply it. Even when i got back and apply the saved template to the mid images it doesn't create the same result. In the settings I choose the template where it says Layout: and click OK, but if I go back into settings it has returned to Free Layout

I am fairly new to Autopano giga though haven't used previous versions.
