Autopano 4.2.3 libKGFL_linux64.so missing

by hannes » Thu Dec 10, 2015 6:29 pm

I wanted to upgrade to Autopano Giga 4.2.3 (ubuntu 12.04) but the new version is not running complaining: error while loading shared libraries: libKGFL_linux64.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Autopano Giga 4.2.2 is working

Hi,

Are you using the deb file or the *.tar.gz file?

Let us know,

Best,

Did you try to uninstall first the previous version using the package manager (dpkg ou apt-get) ? sometimes it helps ;)

thank you for that hint - I did this - but now I get a new message:

try this in a terminal:

it'll install a package that might be missing on your system (not sure if it's avalaible in standard repositories of Ubuntu 12.04 but no risk to try it ;)

Hi,

When the deb is installed, what is the output of the following command :
ls /usr/lib/AutopanoGiga/

Also, about the problem you're experiencing with the tar.gz, just try to re-download it from the Kolor website, and let me know about the result.

(NOTE : it is highly recommanded to use ubuntu 14.04 LTS since it is on this system that Autopano is tested)

Best,

Claire

Thanks,

Also can you confirm that you are not running on some "unusual configs" like a virtual machine or so?
What is your GPU? Which driver are you using in to run it?
Also did you have by any chance a version of Qt installed somewhere on your computer?

Best,

Claire

installation worked but I got an error:

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

i-nex is running and I found information about the GPU but where to find information about the QT-versions?

Hi,

As for the deb :

I think I did get what is the issue here : what is the way you're lauching the deb file?

If I do :
'cd /usr/lib/AutopanoGiga/' and then './AutopanoGiga' I am getting the issue you're having : ./AutopanoGiga: error while loading shared libraries: libKGFL_linux64.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
(Indeed, with this way you're skipping the prelaunch script that sets all the environment path correctly for Autopano Giga to found the library it needs).

What you need to do from wherever on your system is opening a terminal and run this command : 'AutopanoGiga'

Let me know about the result.

As for the tar.gz :
Can you go where you uncompressed your archive and try the following commands :
gedit AutopanoGiga.sh
Change you file so that is looks like the following (only 4 last lines were changed) :

#!/bin/sh
appname=`basename $0 | sed s,\.sh$,,`
dirname=`dirname $0`
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$dirname
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export QT_PLUGIN_PATH="$dirname"
for f in *.so*; do echo $f; ldd $f | grep -i xcb; done
for f in ./platforms/*.so*; do echo $f; ldd $f | grep -i xcb; done
for f in ./xcbglintegrations/*.so*; do echo $f; ldd $f | grep -i xcb; done
#ldd $dirname/$appname "$@" &

Save the result, run sh AutopanoGiga.sh and post the output (or PM me the output cause it is likely to be quite long).

Best,

Claire

System tab -> Library !

Did you try to run program directly from the Unity launcher by just typing Auto ?

Hi again,

Hannes, I thought that with the deb file, the issue was with libKGFL ? Whereas with the tar.gz the issue was something dealing with xcb...

Given your previous post, it seems that now both of your issues (deb and tar.gz) are related to xbc, is that right? (Sorry, but I'm getting confused by the errors).

Best,

Claire

Yes - seems to be so - the messages changed after deleting and reinstalling (the procedures mentioned above).
I am confused too.
Maybe it is the best to stay with version 4.2.2. and later update to ubuntu 14.04 LTS ...
best regards

I mean, we had issues with xcb earlier, are you displaying through VGA or HDMI ? Does your display setup have anything noticable? ... for sure the best thing to do would be to use a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04, although the problem you have should not occur...

EDIT : Can you try this :
sudo apt-get install "^libxcb.*" libx11-xcb-dev libglu1-mesa-dev libxrender-dev libxi-dev
(Just to make sure you have all dependencies installed for xcb)
