AutoPano Giga 4.2 crashes

by mspiraino » Wed Sep 09, 2015 8:20 pm

Program crashes or freezes whenever I try to change settings. My video driver is up to date. I have APG 3 still installed and it works fine.

Welcome to the forum...

What hardware platform and OS, which version of APG 32-bit or 64-bit?

Which settings are you trying to change when the program crashes?

Do you see the Crash reporter pop-up? If so, have you submitted crash reports?

Windows 8 64 bit. The program actually crashes whenever I try to do anything. The crash reporter did pop up and I've submitted several reports.

And you are using the 64-bit version of APG?

You are not alone.

I upgraded today from Autopano Pro to Autopano Giga 4.2 and the program "hangs" whenever I try to perform any action, other than modify settings.

Windows 7 64 bit (I am using the 64bit version of APG)
12 MB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce GT 440

Let's see if someone is capable of providing the solution before it is time to return the product.

Solved.

Updating Nvidia drivers did the trick.

I checked again and have the latest video driver installed, so seems like I may be stuck

Hi mspiraino,

I gave a look at your crash reports.
It seems to be caused by a third party application called 'Dell Backup and Recovery Solution'.
You could try to update this software or change Autopano settings to use a custom file browser which do not use third party application.

This software adds customization to the Windows explorer (which provides dialog box for opening/saving files). Any bug in such customization widget would cause the host program (Autopano, here) to crash.

Setting change is described in the documentation:
http://www.kolor.com/wiki-en/action/view/Autopano_Solutions#Crash_when_opening_a_file_browser

Let us know if that fixes the issue.
Thomas.
