Does file name matter?

by perkovich » Wed Mar 08, 2017 4:24 pm

Due to battery failure the file names on our six different Gopro cameras mounted on the Omni rig isn't in order. Some cameras are 1-2 numbers ahead and some are 2-3 after. When I tried to import Omni Importer couldn't find anything to import on the SD cards. My first thought was that it has to do with the file names. Is that correct?

I could move and copy the correct files in groups and then the import worked so my immediate situation is solved.

What is (if thats actually the problem) the best way to get them in order again?

Hello,

Omni Importer does not rely on file names, but on file metadata.
If the software cannot find spherical footage, check if you have your 6 videos for each shot.

You can also try to import your sequences directly into AVP.

Let me know
Stéphane

Thanks, will try and have a look again next time. Imported manually and deleted the content so don't have anyhing to test on for the moment.

Now I have prepared a new batch to import but still have issues. Using Gopro Omni Importer 2.6.0 on macOSX. I have copied content form SD cards onto a drive structured like this:
OmniData > CAM1 > DCIM > 100AR001
OmniData > CAM2 > DCIM > 100AR002
... and so on (as in the example here http://www.kolor.com/wiki-en/action/vie ... i_Importer).

There are 73 files in every 100AR00X folder so all cameras have been working.

When I choose to import "Locate your folder": OmniData the application says "Fetching data xx%" and then says "NO SPERICAL SHOTS FOUND."

I can't find anything wrong. Any ideas?

Problem solved by upgrading the firmware to 02.26.02.01.
