In the panorama field, hardware is also part of the success. You can discuss here about it: camera, computer, pano head, anything

Good lens for Canon EOS 50D to create Virtual Tours Seamlessly

by cptpicard » Wed Jan 14, 2009 6:39 pm

Hi guys,

I enjoy creating 360 degree virtual tours. However, before I bought this camera I used to take 180 photos roughly, stitch them all together to make the 360 degree virtual tour.
I've now bought my 50D and wondered what would be a great lens so that I can take as fewer photos as possible - preferably 5, I hear it's possible - so that it makes my job that much easier.

I've read a bit about the Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 EX DC HSM, is this the best one to go for?

Also, what would be a good tripod for the task?

Here's my current spec: Canon EOS 50D Digital SLR Camera (incl. EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens Kit)

Thanks in advance
